English Corner with Kids

Hope of the City is partnering with a local church, the Christian Church of Mustard Seed, located in Sham Shui Po. We are recruiting bilingual tutors who enjoy teaching children from primary grades 1 to 6 and helping to build up their confidence in speaking English. The tutoring will use a range of fun and engaging games and activity-based approaches.

Confirmed volunteers are required to attend a training session which will happen on Mar 22, 2026 (Sat). Volunteers will be paired up to take turns leading the activities, preparing materials, and facilitating the sessions that encourage the children to practice conversational English.

To foster stronger relationship-building with the students, we ask that volunteers commit to the scheduled program dates listed below.

Term 2: Apr 11, Apr 18, Apr 25, May 2, May 9, May 16, May 30 (Saturdays)

Time: 10:30am-12:30pm

Training Date: March 22, 2026 (Sun) 11:30am-1:00pm

Language requirement: English supplemented with Cantonese
