About the Event

Partnering with Island ECC, Hope of the City is launching a 4-month youth programme focused on career exploration and skill development. The programme is designed to offer exposure for the youth to learn and engage with different career opportunities.

We’re seeking Cantonese-speaking mentors with a heart to journey alongside disengaged youth, offering encouragement, career guidance, and support for character development. While young people may face setbacks or self-doubt, we hope mentors will befriend them and help redirect their path toward hope. Mentors will meet their mentees on Saturdays from May to August to inspire, encourage, and walk with them through the programme, culminating in support as mentees prepare for their internship at Hope Café between July and August. Since we are partnering with a church to carry out the activities, there will be Christian elements such as testimony sharing and prayer time. All confirmed mentors are required to attend a training session to gain a better understanding of the youth’s needs and the program guidelines. The mentor training will be held on Saturday, 2 May 2026, at Hope Centre.
