After School Tutoring

St. James Settlement is launching an after school tutoring class on Friday afternoons for children from low-income families. Low-income families often face high costs of renting subdivided units, with some expenses even accounting for half of their family expenses. As a result, they may not have additional resources to enroll their children in after-school learning support programs. Furthermore, most parents may not have the educational background to keep up with the increasingly challenging content of regular school curriculum, so they need volunteer tutors to help guide them through basic academic work.

We are recruiting volunteers who can assist the children with their learning needs and spur them on in their academic and personal development. Volunteers can join one or multiple sessions to observe and get a taste of what you’ll be doing as a tutor. Kindly state the date(s) that you wish to participate on the registration form.
